NC County Cuts Some Abortion Coverage For Staff
Paying for abortions, with tax dollars, has now been deemed illegal.

A North Carolina county has stopped paying for elective abortions for employees after officials said a 29-year-old state Supreme Court ruling makes it illegal to use tax dollars to pay for the procedure.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Friday that Wake County Manager David Cooke changed the county's self-insurance plan this week.
The plan will continue to pay for abortions in cases of incest, rape or danger to the mother's life.
Employees have had elective abortions covered since at least 1999.
Attorney and state House Republican leader Paul Stam of Apex says other counties that pay for the service could face lawsuits.
Opponents say the move goes beyond the 1981 court ruling, which dealt with funding abortions for indigent women that were not a medically necessity.
