Imported Fire Ants Cause Growers To Be Quarantined
Two counties in Eastern Carolina are under quarantine for imported fire ants.

Two counties in Eastern Carolina are under quarantine for imported fire ants.
State agriculture officials say Currituck and Hertford Counties are now fully under quarantine conditions because of fire ants. That means people and business owners need to get permits before moving plants, sod and any related equipment through non-ant-infested areas.
People can get the permits by calling the Plant Protection Section at (800) 206-9333.

I have a five galon bucket with the bottom cut out an I just place it over the mount and then dranch the mount with two galons of kerasine after it soaks in I light it with a tost match lots of smoke but there are no fire ants to survive this treetment ever it works an is pretty cheep

Let's get educated together, shall we?: http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/chatham/ag/SustAg/fireants.html Using broadcasted fire ant killers over large areas kills local ants as well, so when the fire ants do return they can spread more aggressively. As for gasoline, well, please leave your address cause I don't want to live in or near a yard full of toxic chemicals. Not to mention your tainted water supply

I guess I just don't understand why you would import fire ants in the first place? That's like bringing rats to a cheese factory.
