Former State Highway Engineer Indicted For Extortion
A former district highway engineer and two others have been indicted in an extortion scheme involving road repairs and hurricane cleanup.

A former district highway engineer and two others have been indicted in an extortion scheme involving road repairs and hurricane cleanup.
Danny Ray Taylor, who was district engineer for Beaufort & Pitt Counties is accused of extorting some $7,300 from one asphalt paving company.
Also indicted are former highway employees Don Fornes and Michael Delmonte. The federal indictment says the two split corrupt payments they received from a tree removal company.
If convicted the three face up to 20 years in prison
