Lacrosse Player Says He Thought D-N-A Would Clear His Name

A Duke lacrosse players accused of raping a stripper at a team party says he and his teammates didn't hesitate to provide D-N-A samples.

Reade Seligmann testified this morning in Raleigh in a hearing on Durham County prosecutor Mike Nifong. The North Carolina State Bar has accused Nifong of violating professional standards in the case.

The players were cleared earlier by North Carolina's attorney general.

Seligmann says he and his teammates thought D-N-A samples would
be the fastest way to clear their names.

Nifong pursued the case even after the tests failed to find any connection between the accuser and the team.

Seligmann says he, Collin Finnerty and Dave Evans went from being viewed as athletes to being seen as rapists.

Nifong could lose his law license.
