Friday, Pitt County Memorial Hospital unveiled a mobile field hospital, one of only eight in North Carolina.
Stored in a massive tractor trailer when not in use, the field hospital is comprised of six tents, six heating and air conditioning units and three hygiene areas, complete with a shower, sink and bathroom.
The structure takes a crew of fifty about four hours to set up. The mobile hospital unit has a fifty-bed capacity with multiple sections, including an emergency department and operating room.
