Raleigh To Begin Mandatory Water Restrictions In July

Mandatory year-round water restrictions will take effect in July throughout Raleigh.

That means you can only water your lawn three days a week, on alternate days.

North Carolina's capital city isn't in a drought, but conditions are extremely dry.

City officials hope the restrictions prevent Falls Lake, Raleigh's water source, from getting as critically low as it did two years ago.

The restrictions also affect Wake County municipalities that get water from Raleigh.
Nearby Cary, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro have similar restrictions in place.
