Duplin County EMS Services Changing?

It's a cut that could increase response times from six minutes to ten minutes, perhaps even as long as twenty minutes. Those numbers are of grave concern to many residents and first responders. County officials have a plan though. They are replacing the two units with quick response vehicles or QRV'S, a one man paramedic unit which is like an SUV. The QRV will be first on the scene, and then an ambulance from somewhere else in the county will transport the patient to the hospital. Still, Nathan Kelly, one of Duplin County's nearly fifty thousand citizens, remains worried about critical response time. For now, volunteer firefighters and citizens are working to get the decision overturned. The new plan is on a trial basis for six months.
