She was just twenty six years old. Ten years later Elizabeth is still fighting those who told her she'd never move from the neck down again. Through intense physical therapy five hours per day and through stimulation research, Elizabeth is approaching her goal of walking on her own someday with a cane. Fiercely independent Elizabeth says learning to depend on others was the hardest thing to come to grips with after her injury. Elizabeth's medical treatment and physical therapy costs sixty thousand dollars per year. A fundraiser is being held Friday evening at the Greenville Museum of Art.
