The Wilson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a murder, but they don't know the victim's identity. An off-duty Highway Patrol Sergeant made the grisly discovery Sunday when his family went fishing near the town of Stantonsburg and the Contentnea Creek.
Lawmen say the victim, who is a hispanic man, may not be a legal resident. They have a possible name but do not know where he lived. Attempts to find family have so far been unsuccessful. If you have any information about the victim or the crime, the Wilson County Sheriff's Office asks you to call (252) 237-2118
