Edwards Says Campaign Will Shift From 'Cult Of Personality'

Elizabeth Edwards says the emerging presidential campaign has fallen into a ``cult of personality.''

But the wife of Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards thinks that will change as voters begin to focus on the real differences between the candidates.

Elizabeth Edwards concedes the campaign has cranked up far earlier than previous cycles. She says the only good thing about that is that ``fluff and frivolity'' will eventually fade.

In the last election cycle, John Edwards -- a former North Carolina senator --surprised many by finishing second. That gave him enough momentum to land on the ticket with nominee John Kerry.

Elizabeth Edwards is in Iowa to formally open her husband's campaign office.
