The personal information of current,
former and retired Bank of America employees was saved on a laptop
that was stolen.
That's according to a letter from the company to the employees
who were affected.
A "limited" number of people were affected, but company
officials won't say how many.
The personal information on the laptop included names,
addresses, birth dates and Social Security numbers. The letter said
there is no evidence that the information has been misused.
The company is offering the employees free credit monitoring for
Bank of America has more than 203,000 employees worldwide.
