A former middle school teacher accused
of possessing more than 30,000 images of child pornography on
his computers is in more trouble.
Court documents say David Campbell Jones was indicted by a
federal grand jury in Greensboro last week on charges of child
pornography and trying to engage in sexual activity with a minor.
Jones is a former Boy Scout leader and football coach who
already faces 22 state charges stemming from two incidents with
underage boys and having child pornography on his computers.
Jones had worked for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City schools for 23
years before he was arrested in August. That's when Orange County
sheriff's officials approached him as he walked to the home of a
15-year-old boy he communicated with on the Internet.
Documents say Jones, a former science teacher, also was accused
of taking indecent liberties with a minor for an alleged incident
involving another teenage boy in Wake County last April.
