What would happen if a 25-foot wave slammed our coast with only seven hours warning time? That's the question the Onslow County Emergency Management team was working toward Wednesday. After the Indian ocean tsunami killed more than 300,000 people two years ago, officials in Onslow County decided it was time to get a plan in place. Coast Guard officials, emergency management teams, law enforcement and other agencies, worked together in table top exercises simulating what a real life disaster would be like. A full scale exercise and simulation will be conducted over a two day period in April.
