A Guilford County prosecutor says
charges against six Guilford College football players accused of
assaulting three Palestinian students in January have been
Assistant District Attorney Howard Neumann says he dropped
charges of assault and ethnic intimidation after reviewing witness
statements from nearly 30 people.
Neumann says the statements from people who said they were at
the incident, quote, "differ as to how the incident began, how it
erupted, who was involved."
The football players were charged after the Palestinian students
said they were subjected to racial slurs and called "terrorists"
while they were beaten and kicked during the January 20th melee.
