We're continuing to follow reaction to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center scandal and firings of top administrators. Yesterday we talked to a local Veteran, today, we talked to Congressman Walter B. Jones.
Jones attended The Life Gate Baptist Church In Pitt County to speak about faith And family. After the service, the conversation was on our veterans. We had to chance to find out his feelings on the problems of moldy rooms, nasty rodents and dilapidated conditions at the outpatient military hospital.
"It's unacceptable!" says Jones, "To me it has to be demoralizing because when you think 'I'm willing to give my life and limb to my country and I return there when I come back and need my country to me recover to rebuild my life' and then the country puts you in that type of environment, it's just unacceptable."
Congressional Hearings On Walter Reed Army Hospital will take place On Thursday. Congressman Jones says he looks forward to discovering the problem and finding a solution.
