Edwards Says Democratic Donor Spat Is Silly

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards says it is silly for rivals to be quarreling over a top donor.

The former North Carolina senator says the topic wasn't on the minds of Americans, but was a top issue for the news media. Voters are asking about the war in Iraq, Edwards says, and health care.

Campaigns of Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois are arguing about a donation to Obama from top Hollywood producer who was critical of Clinton.

Edwards says the entire spat is "a bunch of silliness."

His comments came on the CBS show "Face the Nation."
