A construction worker has been killed in a work-site accident in downtown Durham.
Police in Durham say the accident occurred around 11 a-m inside a building at the Liggett and Myers construction project. An unidentified worker for Big Dog Construction Company was doing some demolition work inside a two-story building that used to house Liggett and Myers administrative offices when a wall collapsed on him.
The historic tobacco warehouse complex is undergoing renovations as developers convert it into shops, offices and residential units.
Durham police and state Department of Labor investigators are at the work site investigating the accident.
