NAACP Celebrates Founder's Day

On Monday the NAACP will celebrate its 98th birthday, but Sunday night, members presented one of their own with a plague of excellence.

William Worthington Junior was the first Vice President of the NAACP for the Greenville chapter. He currently resides in Raleigh, but he came to Greenville to celebrate Pitt County's Founder's day program at Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.

Fighting for freedom for all people is the reason Worthington joined the NAACP more than 30 years ago, now he hopes to teach the younger generation to become active in the organization
