Not even a fire that nearly destroyed their church could stop the members of the Memorial Baptist Church in Greenville from worshipping.
One by one the members came dressed in their Sunday best to worship, but this time they did so in the sanctuary of Greenville's Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. Cornerstone opened their doors to the displaced congregants, allowing them the opportunity to worship while their church is repaired. Memorial Baptist members were overjoyed at the outpouring of help and concern. Before their Sunday service, members tearfully watched video of their church's remains. Despite the tragedy the members remain faithful.
Senior pastor, Randy McKinney says he is planning on Easter Sunday services to be held at the Memorial Baptist Church.
