Fifty-one-year-old Charles Childers admitted guilt in an
agreement last week. He will be sentenced in June.
Assistant U-S Attorney Lynne Klauer says the former chief could
face up to 30 years in prison and fines of up to 250-thousand
Childers pleaded guilty to transportation of obscene matters,
enticement of a minor, and possession of materials containing
visual images of child pornography.
Childers had been with the police department for 27 years before
he was arrested in August. He had been police chief since 2001.
