Charlotte Brothers Get Life In Prison For Drug, Prostitution Ring

A federal judge sentenced two Charlotte brothers to life in prison yesterday for operating a drug and prostitution ring.

Prosecutors say the ring organized girls as young as 14 to have sex with as many as ten men a night.

Tracy McDaniel Howard and David Leonarde Howard were convicted last year on charges stemming from a ring that included ten women, including young teenagers and runaways. The men faced a minimum of
ten years in prison.

Girls involved in the ring say they were given food, clothing and a place to live but were forced to prostitute themselves. One girl told jurors she ran away from the prostitution ring but was caught three weeks later and beaten with a belt.

Also sentenced in the case were Ila Little Howard, Nicholas Jermain agin and Oscar Mario Solano-Sanchez. They received between 12 and 30 years in prison on charges stemming from the prostitution ring.
