More than 200 people paid their respects Thursday
to a 4-year-old girl who was found decapitated in her Clayton home
Katlin Violette will be buried Friday
in a private ceremony. Butterfly-shaped flowers decorated Katlin's
white casket during a service at a Cary church that her family
attended and where her mother volunteered in the nursery.
Her father, John Violette, is charged with her murder.
During the funeral, Katlin's grandparents listed some of
her favorite things, and her Sunday school teachers remembered her
as a loving little girl.
In a written message, Amber Violette said her daughter was full
of life and laughter. She said there are no special words to
relieve any of the confusion surrounding Katlin's death.
