Next time you visit the beach along Bogue Banks on the Crystal Coast you just may notice the wider beachfront and sand brushing between your toes. It's all part of a sand replenishment project taking place on Emerald Isle in Carteret County, a 13 million dollar tune up to replace sand lost during Hurricane Ophelia. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is footing the bill -- helping restore beach fronts in Emerald Isle, Indian Beach and Pine Knoll Shores all -- vital because tourism on the Crystal Coast is a 246 million dollar industry. The whole project will be completed in March.
