A truck involved in a collision on the road in front of Weaver's Grocery lost control and struck the store's gas pump. The gas pump exploded, sending the truck careening into the side of the store. The fire quickly grew in size. Stokes Fire Chief Dean Morris says it took every bit of manpower from four fire departments to battle the blaze. Luckily, Weaver and the driver of the truck were able to escape from the flames. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The State Highway Patrol tells WITN 7 news, the driver of the truck, 17 year-old William Morning of Stokes is charged with failure to yield to a stop sign.
