Police in Wrightsville Beach are looking for the vandals who broke into a multi-million-dollar home and caused extensive damage.
Investigators say someone broke into the house on Christmas Day and ransacked the home. Detective Chris Schwartz says the vandals made off with liquor, some LCD flat-screen televisions and a laptop computer.
Before they left, Schwartz says the vandals turned on the water and stopped up every sink and bathtub. Public works officials say water flowed for at least 12 hours and spilled about 18,000 gallons of water inside the home.
All 4500 square feet of the house had to be gutted. Walls, carpets and insulation had to be removed, and cabinets and furniture replaced.
The owner of the home is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects in the case.
