Police in Charlotte are crediting a
13-year-old boy with saving his mother's life by fighting off an
attacker who stabbed her as she drove.
Authorities say the victim was driving home from a doctor's
appointment Thursday when she and a close friend, who was a
passenger in the front seat, got into an argument. They say the man
began stabbing the woman as the son watched from the back seat.
A police spokesman says the woman was stabbed three times before
the teenager confronted the man as the boy's mother fought to gain
control of the car.
The attacker jumped out of the car, but was arrested moments
later walking down the street and reportedly carrying the knife
used in the attack. He's now in jail facing assault charges.
