Mail can sometimes be late, but 30 years? Here at WITN, we received a piece of mail this week postmarked September 30th, 1976. The letter was originally mailed from the Washington post office by our station and is addressed to a job applicant, but was returned to sender. The postmaster thinks it's possible the letter got caught in a piece of equipment being stored at a postal warehouse or it slipped under a post box where it's remained tucked away for all these years. We tracked down the intended recipient of the letter. He's now working at television station in San Francisco, California. He did get the job at WITN all those years ago. He says after not hearing from the station, he called.
