A partnership formed between state lawmakers and environmental groups is seeking to keep about 1,000,000 acres in the state free from development. But should your tax dollars go to the cause? The Land and Water Conservation Commission has been holding a series of meetings across the state to get public input on how to fund the preservation. Residents had a chance to voice their opinion Monday night at Pitt Community College. The commission hopes to turn over a final report to the legislature by February.
