Going to jail for charity: Workers at the Food Lion in Emerald Isle say nothing is too crazy when it comes to raising money for the Children's Miracle Network, including spending twelve hours in jail. Two managers agreed to get locked up if their staff worked relentlessly to raise funds for CMN. Preliminary numbers are in for 2006 and they're impressive. This particular location raised over $20,000 in 2006, placing them at the top of Food Lion stores in the southeast and among the leaders in the entire country. Coordinators with the CMN office in Greenville say this is the highest an individual Food Lion has raised to date.
