5 Infant Deaths Prompt Lawsuit Over Baby Recliners

The deaths of five infants is prompting the government to take action against the maker of a baby recliner.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has filed a complaint against Baby Matters LLC, alleging that the new model of the Nap Nanny, called the Chill, and two earlier versions, are dangerous.

The first two versions were recalled in 2010 because of more than 20 reports of infants found hanging or falling out over the side despite being placed in the harness.

The CPSC wants Baby Matters LLC to notify the public about what the agency deems a substantial product defect, and offer refunds.
