An airport spokeswoman says 32-year-old Gregory Wester was arrested and charged with trespassing, illegal possession of a prescription drug and accessing an aircraft without permission.
Officials say there was no passenger safety threat. Wester was discovered by a cleaning crew and appeared to have scaled a seven-foot fence topped with barbed wire. Airport spokeswoman Mindy Hamlin says he was disoriented during interviews with the F-B-I.
The Fuquay-Varina resident was being held at the Wake County jail.
Delta Air Lines Flight 717 was scheduled to leave around 6 a-m but was canceled and passengers were accommodated on other flights.
