Law enforcement officials say some shoppers will be searching for opportunity rather than gifts this season, an opportunity to grab and steal merchandise during the holiday rush that oftentimes spells distracted cashiers and patrons. Police say shoplifters are cunning at how they grab and go. Lawmen say sometimes they'll wear large coats or bring bags from other stores, empty them out and fill them up before they leave. Greenville police say recently retailers have installed more in-store cameras and plain clothes inspectors to fight shoplifting.
