Monday night the Greene County commissioners voted *against* grandfathering in a special needs home, Aray of Hope, by a vote of four to one. Back on October 2nd, an ordinance went into effect that limits how close special needs homes can be to one another. Debbie Cruz and Nina Williams, owners of the facility Aray of Hope, say their application was submitted to the state before the new ordinance was passed. The Aray of Hope house is just 200 yards from another licensed home. The owners of the home say it would help teenage girls who struggle with mental, sexual and substance abuse. Several residents have voiced their opinion against the home opening up, citing the fact there are already over a dozen in the county.
