Jacksonville Police are investigating a fatal crash.
Police say a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck pulled off onto the service road off of Highway 24 around 1:30 Saturday morning. Officers say it looks like the driver was speeding when they went into a curve, and the truck flipped a couple of times. They add it looks like the driver was partially thrown and then crushed under the truck. The passenger got out of the car but fled the scene. Police have since caught him, and are interviewing him to find out what happened. Police add alcohol may have been a factor along with speed. They are not releasing the identity of the victim, but say he was military.
