Whether you're driving home to visit family or to the stores, lawmen are urging you to keep safety in mind.
State Highway Patrol Trooper George Wilkerson says there will be checkpoints this holiday weekend. Child safety is a priority, as are speeding and drinking and driving.
Wilkerson says an unsecured child passenger is at an increased risk of injury or death if not properly buckled up.
Wilkerson also reminds you, as we have with two recent reports, when you see a trooper or any emergency personnel on the side of the road, you must move over, slow down or face up to a $160 fine plus court costs.
