Though they're awaiting autopsy results, officials with the Pamlico County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's office say they are pretty sure the body found this weekend was that of 36-year-old Laura Edwards, who went missing October 24th.
Patricia Warren knew Edwards for 15 years. She and many in the community say they are simply trying to make sense of the tragedy.
District Attorney Scott Thomas says foul play is not suspected at this point.
Authorities did not say exactly when they expected the return of the autopsy results.
