U-N-C-Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser says out-of-state students should know what their tuition is going to be. But he says that knowledge will cost them.
Moeser recommends that nonresident freshmen pay an extra four-thousand dollars a year in tuition but that the tuition remain constant for four years. Out-of-state tuition would be 23-thousand-700 dollars. That's similar to what other top public universities charge.
The U-N-C-Chapel Hill board of trustees is likely to vote on a tuition increase when it meets in late January.
