The proposed dental school for East Carolina University is another step closer to reality.
The request was approved yesterday by the University of North
Carolina Graduate Council and the next step will be a vote by the
U-N-C Board of Governors.
E-C-U is proposing a 90 (m) million-dollar dental school with as
many as ten educational clinics in the state as well as the central
facility. The Legislature included seven (m) million dollars in a
budget amendment this year for designing the school.
Dr. Greg Chadwick, E-C-U's associate vice chancellor of health
sciences for oral health, says the Board of Governors is expected
to vote on the proposal on November tenth.
