The party's over, and with it the cows, the carnies and the fried Coca-Cola. The North Carolina State Fair came to a rainy close yesterday, a
day after setting an attendance record.
Officials say attendance was down a bit overall this year, but
in line with the ten-year average. And beautiful weather Saturday
-- traditionally the fair's busiest day -- helped set a single-day
attendance record of almost 146-thousand people.
