There was another fierce battle that wasn't on the gridiron, it was on our waterways in Bath.
It was the Fourth Annual Pamlico Cup Hospice Regatta on the waters in the old pirate port of Blackbeard's past. In the last three years, the group has raised over 17,000 dollars for hospice care. The winner of the race goes onto to the national championship in Maryland, but hospice care was the true goal.
The race got so competitive at times, that there was an open water collision between two boats. Everyone was fine, but one of the boats took quite a licking. Everyone said the weekend was just a great time for a great cause.
