The accident happened at the intersection of Highways 70 and 258. An 81-year-old driver involved in the accident was flown to Pitt County Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition.
Amazingly enough, a baby in the back of one vehicle was untouched, despite the numerous logs that came crashing down on top of the car.
Woody Spencer with Kinston Public Safety says it's a miracle, but points out the child survived because it was buckled into a safety seat that was properly installed in the car.
Two other people involved in the accident suffered only minor injuries.
