Big Changes Coming To V.A. Clinic In Morehead City

After years of work, veterans in Carteret, Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties may not have to wait very long or drive very far to get their medical care. In April, the V.A. clinic in Morehead City will transfer oversight of its operations from the current medical contractor to the V.A. clinic in Durham. Carteret County Veterans Services says when the change occurs in April, staff and services will both be expanded. A meeting to introduce the details of the plan is scheduled for Monday at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City. Congressman Walter B. Jones will help present the new plan. The Morehead City V.A. clinic serves about 28 hundred veterans every month, and Veterans Services expects that number to increase with the new operations plan.
