You can literally walk into the water in Eastern Carolina and find a sunken ship. That's exactly what a group from East Carolina University has done. They've been performing a field study for the past month. The boat, only about 15 feet from shore, sits in around three feet of water in Washington Park in Beaufort County. The vessel looks to be from a time when Washington was a bustling port. But divers and researchers say this vessel still has lots to teach us. Officials say the ship appears to date back to the 1830's and 40's.
