Thousands of North Carolina motorists could be at risk of identity theft now that their personal information has fallen into the hands of thieves.
The North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles says thieves managed to take a computer containing sensitive personal material for thousands of North Carolina drivers in Franklin County.
Sixteen thousand North Carolina drivers have been sent notices of the information breech.
