Greenville's police chief is speaking out following a string of shootings, armed robberies, and a homicide that happened Thursday morning. There have now been 7 shootings in the past week and a half. The latest, a homicide early Thursday morning at an apartment complex on Tobacco Road. Police chief William Anderson has only been on the job since early June. Anderson says he doesn't consider what's going on a crime wave or even unusual. He does say, "It's a challenge, it's a challenge for any police chief, that's coming in, and has to face these types of issues, but its not uncommon." Anderson also says he wants residents to know police don't believe what's going on is gang related and they're doing all they can to solve all incidents.
