Ability over disability. That's the mission of Eastern Carolina Vocational Center in Greenville, Pitt County.
Batteries, pictures frames, a booming recycling business and items for the military. These things are all made at ECVC by folks with disabilities. Their recycling facility is the largest in North Carolina, covering 12 counties.
And they also make a battery connector lug for the military, the only manufacturer of the product in the world. President Daniel Leroux says it’s just all about readying these folks for the workforce.
ECVC will hold its annual banquet on Oct. 19 at the Hilton in Greenville.
