Boil Water Notice For Some Onslow County Residents

The following release is from the Onslow Water and Sewer Authority:

JACKSONVILLE-ONWASA has issued a boil advisory for residents on 5 Mile Road, from Highway 111 to address 739 on 5 Mile Road, and for Williams Cemetery Road. This is a precautionary measure due to the water line break/bridge wash out caused by Tropical Storm Ernesto.

ONWASA is advising those affected to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, and washing hands) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease causing organisms that may be present in the water.

ONWASA will be testing the water throughout the day, and will notify residents once the boil advisory has been lifted. The first opportunity for the advisory to be lifted will be Saturday, September 2.

We thank our customers for their cooperation and patience.
