The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for eastern Carolina until midnight.

Strong winds will continue across central North Carolina tonight.
This will result in wind gusts to around 45 mph with gusts as high
As 55 mph in the coastal plain early this evening.

There are also many reports of downed trees, powerlines and power outages across eastern Carolina.

Dare and Hyde Counties are also under a severe thunderstorm warning.
