State Budget Passed

All the state budget needs now is the governor's signature. State lawmakers gave their final approval Thursday afternoon to an $18.9 billion budget. Some of the highlights include an eight percent raise for public school teachers and a five and a half percent raise for most state workers. The spending plan also calls for the phase-out of the half-cent increase in sales tax and the point-five percent increase in individual income tax.
