Greenville Police say two people were shot and another assaulted with a baseball bat following a disturbance inside the Colonial Mall in Greenville Tuesday afternoon.
Police say mall security responded to a disturbance around 5:30 p.m. to find two groups arguing over a girl. The groups were separated and walked to different exits. Police say at some point, an individual not believed to be involved in the disturbance pulled a handgun and started shooting. Police say those involved in the disturbance grabbed baseball bats from a sporting goods store and assaulted at least one person.
All three victims are being treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. At last word, medical personnel said the injuries were not life threatening.
